Organizing content

The primary purpose of OrganizeWP is to provide an interface for your site’s content that has context and makes content management more straightforward.

By default WordPress includes custom post types in the admin menu. That is fine to an extent, but the admin menu also holds entries to manage Users, Appearance, Plugins, Settings, and more โ€” not to mention every plugin that adds a top-level admin menu entry as a form of advertising. OrganizeWP groups all of your site content into a unified interface on a single screen.

At the top is a global search field that instantly searches across all of the post types recognized by OrganizeWP. Below it, a column of links lets you instantly toggle between those post types. For each post type you can quickly access its associated taxonomies and bulk-add content.

To the right of the post type is the list of its entries. If the post type is not hierarchical, entries are listed by publish date in descending order. If the post type is hierarchical, a drag-and-droppable, collapsible tree view is provided.

By default this is the only information shown for entries โ€” a stark difference from the default WordPress list tables, but that is the point of OrganizeWP: to make editing as streamlined and as fast as possible. When you do need more at a glance, OrganizeWP can add Info Columns to make scanning easier.

Finally, Groups and Smart Groups act as manual and automated “buckets” for entries, designed to facilitate both the organization of and quick access to content.
